Evaluation of SBA’s All Small Mentor-Protégé Program SBA Office of Inspector General Report

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) published its evaluation report on September 17, 2019 presenting the results of their review of the SBA’s All Small Mentor-Protégé Program (ASMPP).

The OIG determined that SBA did not implement effective controls to ensure it conducted initial application reviews and annual evaluations in full alignment with program regulations.

Four recommendations to improve the overall management and effectiveness of the program’s application and annual evaluation process where made.  SBA management has agreed to the recommendations with one recommendation pending resolution.  SBA plans to issue a Standard Operating Procedure for this program by July 1, 2020 which will clearly outline ASMPP processes.
